The Museum has a fine collection of Victorian and early twentieth century books on natural history, geology, palaeontology, archaeology and ethnography. This is managed by the Torquay Museum Society and held in the Local Studies Room. In more recent years the purchase of books has been more concentrated on the local history of South Devon.
All of these magnificent editions have been brought together in our Local Studies Centre which is open to anyone by appointment. We do ask that visitors have a valid Museum ticket if they wish to use the local studies facilities which can be purchased at reception - for prices click here. The Library is run by volunteers and opening times are varied..Please contact the Museum on 01803 293975 for more details.
