When the Torquay Natural History Society started to bring together their collections of objects and artefacts for the Museum, books were also included.
The Museum has a fine collection of Victorian and early twentieth century books on natural history, geology, palaeontology, archaeology and ethnography. This is managed by the Torquay Museum Society and held in the Local Studies Room. In more recent years, the purchase of books has been more concentrated on the local history of South Devon.
Our Local Studies Room is not in use at the moment and can't be accessed by the general public.
