Our impressive Grade II listed Museum is located near Torquay harbour and the Clocktower, minutes away from the town centre.
The Museum offers a unique location for conferences, meetings and events and has a choice of 3 rooms to meet a wide range of needs; from a small boardroom meeting to an auditorium seating 130 with high-spec presentation facilities.
The whole Museum is available for hire but only on days in which the Museum is not open to the public (please see museum opening times) with quotes given on a booking-by-booking basis.
Pengelly Hall has the ability to seat 130 using tiered theatre-style seating. This is our largest room and is a flexible space with multiple uses.
A mobile stage adds further flexibility for presentations and the room comes equipped with AV equipment, including audio loop. The room has a folding, acoustic partition, allowing the space to be divided into two sections for smaller meetings or seminar groups.
Used without the seating, Pengelly Hall is an ideal exhibition space or perfect for a formal dinner for larger numbers.

This wonderful atmospheric room, lined with Victorian glass fronted bookcases, is ideal for smaller meetings.
This room can seat up to 20 people boardroom or 30 theatre style and can also be used for receptions.
The Local Studies or Old Library room is a beautiful room lined with books giving a real alternative room for small meetings and gatherings for community groups.
The room will hold up to 30 people depending on whether it is a formal meeting or a presentation.
Pengelly's Cafe can create a simple buffet for your event.

If you give less than 5 working days' notice of cancellation, you will be charged 20% of the hire fee and full cost of catering.
If you give less than 24 hours' notice of cancellation you will be charged 100% of the hire cost of catering.
