TALK: Kelly Mine

calendar8th Oct 2025, 10:45 am

Torquay Museum Society Lecture by Peter Wade

Devon had an extensive iron mining industry with micaceous haematite being mined in the Wray Valley. Kelly Mine closed in 1951 but was saved by KMPS and is now a volunteer led site showing what life was like in mines such as these in the 1920s?

Lectures are free of charge to Torquay Museum Society Members but the general public are also welcome to attend - £5 per ticket, payable on the door.
