Our workshop focuses on the different toys and games which children played with in the past including board games from Ancient Egypt and Tudor times. Children investigate the similarities and differences between toys today and those in the past and we encourage them to think about changes in living memory through handling and playing a variety of toys and games.

Our Explorers workshop focuses on the story of an explorer from Torquay: Frank Browning who was part of Captain Scott's team in the race to the South Pole. The children learn about the lives of Polar Explorers; looking at habitats, adaptations, investigating ice cores, and also taking part in a carousel of hands-on activities including object handling and STEAM challenges.
