Lecture: Lost in the Woods

Date: 26 October 2021

Torquay Museum Society Lecture
By Chris Brooks
10.45am - 12 Noon

Abandoned children, ravenous wolves, witches' houses perched upon chicken legs. Are these just the woodland remnants of old wives' tales spun in the nursery or are they part of a storytelling tradition that the modern world ignores at a cost? This talk by storyteller and folklorist, Chris Brooks, focuses on how we can learn from and enjoy again, as adults, those traditional tales of fearful forests and dreadful deeds that we thought were just for children.

Lectures are free of charge to Torquay Museum Society Members. But the general public are also welcome to attend - £5 per ticket, payable on the door.
