Support from Torbay Council Announced!
Date: 2 July 2020 - 31 July 2020
Many thanks for all your wonderful support over the last three weeks. Through your fantastic generosity, we have raised just over £11,000 (with Gift Aid)! We have also just received some unexpected good news that Torbay Council have been able to support us through a £25k business support grant which we had been ineligible for. Huge thanks to the Council for this level of support which is a massive boost to our funds.
Thanks to the public support through this Crowdfunding campaign and the Torbay Council business support grant we are now out of immediate danger and we can confirm we will be re-opening around the 22nd July. All donations received to date will be used to help with our re-opening and make the visitor experience as safe and enjoyable as possible including the setting up of a brand new temporary exhibition.
As a charity, we are always fundraising to support our work of looking after the Museum and all its collections - for us it is always a year round activity and all our planed events this year are cancelled. We will therefore be keeping the Crowdfunding page open and any additional donations received will be put towards the continued care and conservation of our collections and building including maintaining and improving the permanent displays and the temporary exhibitions we put on each year.
On behalf of the staff and Trustees of the Museum I would like to thank all those who have contributed to this Crowdfunding campaign so far and helped us to be able to open the doors again. Your comments have highlighted how much people locally (as well as some further afield) care about the heritage we look after and has energised all of us here at the Museum to do everything we can to bring our fascinating history alive for Museum visitors.
Thank you for your support.
